The mention of a wedding invites shrieks of joy from the bride and her girlfriends followed by thumps on the back of the groom. Although this tradition has been ongoing since the beginning of time, it never grows stale despite numerous attempts by modernity to reduce it to a piece of paper.

invitationAs time progresses, invitations to celebrate the union of two individual lives are made known by various means. Up to the middle ages, news and announcements were heralded by the town crier. As an employee of the court, he was clad in bright attire to signify his officious position. Ringing a bell in his hand, he walked through the streets and shouted out the latest announcements in, both good and bad news. Perhaps that was when the infamous Hear Ye Hear Ye was coined to draw the people’s attention. As wedding invites were announced, all within hearing distance of the crier were invited.

The Chinese people ranked clothing at the top most necessity of their lives then there follows the food, shelter, and transportation. China is a country that has a long history of garments and ornaments as proved by many archeological findings which showed the development of garments. Generally, the characteristics of the Chinese garments can be summarized as bright colors, refined artisanship, and ornate details. image The traditional clothing of the Chinese truly reveals the way of life they were used to live back then. Traditional Chinese clothing is full of native symbolism. This is one of the things that made traditional Chinese clothing apart. Everything from the pheasant feathers on the head gear of warriors up to the foot binding bandages on the soles of young Chinese girls has symbolism attached along with it.

During the Sui Dynasty, which is about 500 AD, the Chinese emperor made a rule that all poor people had to wear blue or black clothes and only the rich society could wear colorful ones. It was in the Yuan Dynasty that the Mongols introduced cotton to China. At first, people hesitated to grow cotton mainly because the people at the silk industry wanted people to continuously buy silk.

Chinese people are not just the only people who wear these things, you too can wear one! Chinese clothing has varied by region and time, and its history has been recorded by the artifacts of the ancient Chinese people a long time ago. The Chinese people wore tunics or long T-shirts. Females wore a long tunic that goes down to the ground with matching belts to create a curvature while men wore smaller ones down to their knees. Sometimes they wore jackets over their tunics especially during winter. You don’t have to go to China for you to wear Chinese clothing. Admit it, Chinese apparels have lately been part of the latest trend nowadays. Chinese clothing are not the easiest items to find, especially handmade authentic Chinese dress, and other styles of traditional Chinese clothing.

Stress- it’s an everyday word in our society. There’s good stress; there is bad stress. And no matter how hard and how well you plan, there is stress during your wedding planning months.

“I’m stressed to the limit. I just can’t take it anymore!” During the wedding planning stages, you may find yourself saying this more times than you can count. Yes, by their very nature, weddings are stress-producing events. This is an emotional time. Much of the stress comes from all the details you have to be involved with, along with a sense of not having control over all that’s going on. You might feel pulled in many directions as well; you have too many advice-givers and not enough supporters. At times, you might even wish that you and your partner had just chosen to elope. Relax-all these feelings and emotions are in the normal range of wedding stress.

clip_image002

Let’s look at some of the reasons for this stress:

It costs how much? – Not expecting the add-on costs and not getting an accurate estimate for a service can leave you drained both financially and emotionally. That is why keeping your expectations reasonable and setting realistic goals is so important.

Too much advice from too many people- Although you do need advice from many friends-especially those recently married-you will eventually reach a saturation point. Get a grip! Do a reality check. Do your homework and you should be fine.

Trying to please everyone- Another potential point of certain stress is trying to please everyone. “Everyone” means both sets of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, all your friends, and your boss! Remember this is your wedding; don’t lose sight of that now. You can’t possibly please everyone. Don’t alter your plans just to please someone unless you can do that without altering your basic desires.

Divorced and blended families- If your parents are divorced and not on friendly terms, never assume that they will put aside their differences long enough for you to walk down the aisle. Always use caution, courtesy, and compassion when you discuss your wedding plans with them and how you see their individual roles.

What you can do to help yourself

• Get enough sleep and eat right.

• Get moving-any sort of exercise to help work off that stress.

• Indulge yourself in some non-wedding related things with your spouse.

• Work on communication with each other and with your parents.

• Learn to compromise-give and take.

• Don’t lose sight of what is really important-your marriage.

Whenever you meet with any wedding supplier it is best to be prepared and this goes for your wedding flowers florist too. With flowers costing a significant portion of your budget it is best to know what you want and how much you to have spend from the moment you enter the shop.

Follow these suggestions when the time comes to order your flowers and make sure you get the best value for money from your florist:

1. Take some inspiration with you in the form of magazine cuttings and photographs. It will give your florist some idea of what you are looking for and what you like.

2. Be uber organized by making sure you take your wedding notebook with you, a copy of your budget and your planning checklist so you know when your order needs to be finalized and when you need to have it delivered or collected.

3. Try putting together a mini portfolio of all the things you like from flowers to containers, arrangement styles, decorative objects and even patterns and colors.

4. Make sure there is nothing in your portfolio or in the images you present that you do not like – it could only cloud your florist’s ideas of what you like.

5. Do not let your florist put you under any pressure to make decisions on the spot. It is your wedding day and you should have the perfect flowers for the occasion. However, you should also remember that the majority of florists are very experienced and that their advice is well worth listening to.

6. Include some photographs of your venue including the room in which your ceremony and reception will be held along with a floor plan showing where your guests will enter. This will help your florist determine the style of the arrangements and colors which will best compliment your venue.

7. Bring a swatch of fabric from both your dress and your bridesmaids, as well as pictures of these dresses so that the color of your flowers can be matched and the shape and size of bouquet chosen to compliment.

8. Don’t forget to tell them about your choice of wedding colors and theme if you are having one!

9. Always tell them what your budget is so they can come up with ideas to fit it.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. The key factor that really makes or breaks a party is almost always ignored by people putting on a wedding. It’s something that everyone has access to and it doesn’t cost a dime. It’s timing.

How often have you attended a wedding that started at six in the evening; the bride came down the aisle after seven; the cocktail reception ran from eight until nine-thirty; and dinner was finally put in front of you at ten-thirty at night? By midnight, you’ve been there for six hours, and they haven’t even cut the cake. Your energy level has dropped and may be you’ve too much to drink. This is the profile of many weddings where issues like timing and the elements that go into creating a good party have been ignored.
